It’s been another great year on the trail!
Thousands of residents and visitors have enjoyed the recreational opportunities and the beauty of the trail, we’ve added a few more badly needed parking spaces at the trail head and thanks to the generosity of the Sandpoint Rotary, several awesome benches have been installed that offer wonderful chances for respite along the trail.
It’s all cause for a celebration! So come join us to “Toast the Trail” at our fifth-annual, year-end celebration of the Pend d’Oreille Bay Trail. The festivities take place from 4-7 pm, Thursday, December 8th at the Pend d’Oreille Winery, 301 Cedar Street in Sandpoint.
The Friends of the Pend d’Oreille Bay Trail and supporters have been busy this year working on ways to extend the trail into Ponderay via an underpass under the railroad tracks. This extension project will require substantial planning studies and this year’s “Toast the Trail” event will help raise revenue to fund these studies.
The event includes awesome silent auction items including a season pass to the Festival at Sandpoint, a beautiful framed print, a spa basket and much more.
The event will also include live music by Doug Bond ansds Marty Perron, great locally crafted beer and wine and unique holiday gift shopping opportunities. A portion of all the sales the night of the event will benefit the Friends and their work to improve, steward and expand the trail.
So come on out on the 8th and eat, drink and be merry with fellow trail lovers.
